The local actor's theatre in town put on this little off-broadway musical called THE EVIL DEAD. So, of course I had to go see it being a fan of the movies. I was hoping they wouldn't butcher it and make a mockery of something I love. After seeing it I can say I'm a BIG fan of the musical! It was hysterical! They've taken the campiness and cranked it up to 11. It's more an homage to all three films instead of an insult. They've left in bits of the original dialogue from the films, but the songs are new of course and are insanely fun. Here are a few song titles: "Cabin in the woods", "Look who's evil now", "All the men in my life keep getting killed by Candarian demons" and my absolute favorite..."What the f*ck was that?" Awesome.

The musical has it all; Ash with boomstick, Ash with his chainsaw, the trapdoor in the floor where they throw the first poor soul, the tree rape scene, and there's even blood squirting into the audience. CATS this ain't! So, if you come across your local theatre company advertising this play, do yourself a favor and get tickets. You won't be disappointed. Hail to the king, baby!

Yeah, I picked up the soundtrack to it sometime last year and love it. I doubt that it will play anywhere near me, but one can always hope. At least, I'll have my soundtrack to listen to.

This is something I definitely want to see sometime in my lifetime.
