Well this is it. I won't be in town tomorrow. So, I just wanted to let everyone know that this has been a fun ride. I just hope that ChillerTV does this again next year. Now that is going to be a contest. Everyone is going to have a year to produce their short.

By the way, if anyone wants to see BoBo (pg25) without makeup. Check out this Krunch Komic's original made for a Boston Market "homemade movie contest". It is a 2 minute short. called "Blood Thirsty". He is the taller one.

"BoBo, The Pissed Off Clown". Best wishes to all the talent. All of you
guys and gals, have a scary, but safe Halloween. Good Luck to everyone!

We all had alot of fun doing 'The Red Wraith'.  We're all friends so the shooting process was probably the most enjoyable part of the whole experience.  Being that this was my first movie longer than :30 I learned that alot more work goes into it than you think.  I spent alot of long nights during the week before the deadline.  Got the movie done on Thursday.  Friday night worked on overdubbing 1:30 for about 3 hours, worked on the soundtrack on Saturday from 8am-10pm and Sunday from 8amto11am.  Which gave me the rest of the day to mix sound which ended up being the weekest part of my submission.  I've fixed it up quite a bit better now for the YouTube and DVD version.

It's been fun.  Good luck all.

We too here at El Cheapo Productions wish to extend a huge thank you to Chillertv.

We have made allot of friends through out the contest and look forward to a possible Dare To Direct 2!

And.... Please keep in mind all you film makers.... The USA is littered with festivals and film contests that your submission here certainly can compete in. Don't think your film ends here....

I've certainly enjoyed all the conversations and ideas tossed around here in the boards, if there's something I will miss it's that a lot of the people that participated may well move along and lose contact.

Thanks to all that joined in and encouraged me along with everyone else, I know I appreciated all the kind words that were posted here on the boards and on the comments page for my movie.

For a first experience in movie competitions is was a great one, and I do hope there will be another go around with Chiller channel. If their experience was half as good as mine perhaps there will be!!

I'll still be around from time to time... I didn't join just for the contest, although the contest is how I found out about the Chiller TV community. Now that te contest is dwindling down some I can scoot over and spend my time in other parts of the forum.

I find it VERY strange that it was the obvious Burtonesque influence in my artwork that initially got people excited about my film, The Night Before All Saints', but then it turned out to be the ONLY thing that people complained about in the comments on the movie's page. *lol* laugh.gif Now I know how Tim Burton felt when half of the audience for Batman Returns told him how much lighter it was from Batman '89 and the OTHER half of the audience told him how much DARKER it was. Let's hear it for the diversity of human perception, ladies and gentlemen! rolleyes.gif

It's not the scariest thing on the market, and it wasn't intended to be. I can only hope that Chiller has the same attitude towards filmmaking as I do; target your audience when they're young (I gather that it was a HUGE hit with the kids, possibly giving explanation to the number of votes it got), then they'll come back to see your future movies for pure nostalgia if nothing else. smile.gif

[size=3][font=Times New Roman]Well, the voting has come to an end and now it’s time to wait for the announcement of finalists. I had tons of fun writing, shooting, editing, and promoting “No Laughing Matter.” The article in my school’s paper informed a lot of people about Chiller and my own production work. Kudos to Chiller for coming up with this contest. I had a blast!!!! Now, what’s the future hold for Huck You Productions and David Heath Yates…..how about a full length feature that will be done by December. Four college friends go to a cabin for the weekend for some partying and relaxation, but something sinister begins to stalk and hunt them down. Fresh air….Fresh Blood…..Can they survive a blood filled night at “Stabin’ Cabin.”

Hey everyone, I had the priveledge of playing the bad guy in "Killer" (pg.4) and I wanted to thank ChillerTV for the great exposure this contest gave me as an Actor. Between The Akron Beacon Journel posting a summery of the movie and the contest on page 2, the few local radio stations who gave us a shout out and the 60 or so flyers that went out around Akron university and other places I was estatic to see the vote count so high. a lot of work went into the project.

I also wanted to thank all the other filmmakers out there who put a lot of work into their shorts.. I got to enjoy a multitude of hours of entertainment that without this contest I would not have been able to see otherwise. some of my favorites were (in no order and for different reasons) Canopy Hills, Mamma Just isnt the same anymore, deadly dweller and blind mice.

as an Actor it was interesting to read some of the comments out there on different movies as well as "Killer" I saw some great ideas and great movies and on more then few occassions thought to myself " I hope I get the oppertunity to work with these guys/gals in the future. not just the filmmakers but MANY of the actors/actresses.

Thanks for the great time everyone and good luck to all!!!!

yeah, this was fun. I feel bad I could not be more involved in the boards, but it just happened to be the same week we put out a DVD, so the whole week was spent promoting and dealing with that (FULL TIME JOB!)

Anyway, I may be making something for that YouTube contest, so maybe I will see some of y'all over there...
